A total of $63,000 will be provided for renovations to the Northumberland Arena under the Canada-P.E.I. Infrastructure Program, to be cost-shared equally by the Government of Canada, the Province of P.E.I. and the Northumberland Recreation Association. It is the first major upgrade to the facility since it was constructed 26 years ago. Renovations will include upgrading the washrooms, kitchen area, lobby, dressing rooms and lighting. A stairlift will be installed to make the upper level of the facility wheelchair accessible. Repairs to the roof will protect the interior of the building and the ice surface.
